Island Public School Class Photos

This collection shows various class photos of students of the (old) Island Public School, located near Gibraltar Point of Toronto Island. These images, taken between approx 1930s and 1980s, came from private collections and many were gratefully shared by members of the Toronto Island Connection, an egroup started by former Islanders (recently moved from Yahoo to Groups.io)

My parents built 9 ojibway in 1947/8, Les and Barb Fletcher. My Aunt and uncle lived on Hanlands, Aliens and George Stodart. In 2004 my sister and I visited the Island and visited 9 ojibway. I was 6 when we left but I did go to the island school. Would like to know more about the island’s history. Valerie Mackin and Denise Mc Intosh both need Fletcher.
